Tutorials

When I decided to pursue level design using Unreal I started with the online forums and tutorials about using the Unreal Editor and Level Design. I was inspired to write these as a way of giving back to the community that helped me learn and grow so much.

I originally wrote the Kismet tutorials in English. Fortunately some intrepid Unreal Community members offered to translate some of them. Unfortunately, not everything was translated so the non-English documents are incomplete. I've noted the differences for each.

Each of the tutorials was written and formatted for the previous iteration of this website. To reduce the amount of maintenance for the site, and to make downloadable versions available, I consolidated each tutorial into the documents available here. I did not reformat them so they retain their original web formatting.

I also had the opportunity to translate Gui's excellent Unreal 2.0 Lighting Tutorial Éclairage from French to English. Although some of the more engine-specific/version details may no longer be applicable, much of the theory and explanations do remain relevant.
