Position: Senior Level Designer
Responsibilities: Develop and iterate SP levels and mission docs. Own mission gameplay execution from initial development, through layout/combat iteration, collaboration with other departments, to polish, and finally to bug fixes. Keep other designers up to date with incoming scripting tools, workflow improvements, optimization techniques, and combat toolset. Field technical and difficult bug questions from design team. Participate in and host meetings, reviews, and planning sessions.
• Worked closely with Level Architects to bring levels from concept through to completion
• Created and iterated on Abstract Tutorial level for focus testers; used learnings in Tutorials in Main Mission 1; 'Invasion'
• Designed and assisted programmers in developing new Kismet for AI and other functions as well as other new tools
• With design team feedback, created and propagated kismet best practices and guidelines
• Became one of the go-to level designers for technical advice and assistance
• Main Mission 1 'Invasion' mission owner but also bug fixed several issues throughout main and side mission levels
• Inherited a side mission 'Operation Guardian'; revised combat scripting and mission logic and brought it to completion
• Assisted DLC team with preproduction, standard setting, and level technology plans while completing main SKU
• Inherited two DLC levels and brought them through to completion while assisting on all other DLC levels
• Based on standards setting at beginning of DLC project, DLC bug count stayed below 4000
